The park is named after a real dog. Beautiful Joe lived in Meaford, was rescued by a local family after being badly treated, and became the subject of Margaret Marshall Saunders' 1893 novel. His grave was found on this land and marked with a cairn built from stones out of the river. It has been parkland since 1963.

Low water over the stones

Which river this is has not been confirmed, so it is not named. It was called the Beaver River on the file it arrived in, and that same file naming turned out to be wrong about Beautiful Joe Park, so the name is being left off until somebody who was there is sure. The houses and the placed stone on the far bank say it runs through a settled place, which fits both the Bighead and the Beaver.

Every one of these is loaded only when you scroll to it, because they are a few megabytes each and nobody should pay for four to look at one. The bottom of a 360 photograph is always the hand holding the camera, so these start you facing the horizon and will not let you look all the way down.
